Write Rhythms for Recovery
The second song writing workshop of 2024 began in March and will conclude April 9, 2024. This workshop is provided through a collaboration between Writeface, the Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center LVAMC Recreational Therapy Department and musicians from Music for Everyone. Enrollment is limited to LVAMC outpatients. This workshop participants write lyrics that the MFE instructors put to song. The first four weeks are spent getting comfortable with the writing process. The remaining 6 weeks focus on song subjects and refining the lyrics into a song for each participant. This workshop is conducted in person at the LVAMC.Since 2018, WriteFace has produced a spoken word/ storytelling/and song performance for a Veterans’ Day program at the Ware Center, Lancaster, PA. Participation in Writeface workshops opens the possibility of including, with your permission, your written piece as a song, poem, essay, or story. Authors of selected pieces are invited to present their selection at the performance or they may elect to have someone else perform the piece, or to not have the piece included in the Veterans’ day program. That choice is up to the author.
The third Write Rhythms for Recovery Workshop of 2024 will begin April 16.
The fourth Write Rhythms for Recovery Workshop of 2024 will begin June 25.

Writers on the Storm
This 10 week hybrid (virtual on Zoom and in person) workshop focuses on creating an environment where participants get comfortable with the writing process and gain confidence in their ability to write effectively. Various poetic forms and devices will be introduced and practiced. There is currently space in the workshop for 2 more participants. Email writefacescott@gmail.com to signup. Music for Every Vet
This course begins with an introduction to the creative writing process. Participants work with WriteFace and Music for Everyone volunteers to refine and craft poems and prose into the lyrics of finished songs. Since 2018, WriteFace has produced a spoken word/storytelling/musical show for a Veterans’ Day program at the Ware Center, Lancaster, PA. Participation in WriteFace/MFE workshops opens the possibility of including, with your permission, your written piece as a song, poem, essay, or story. Authors of selected pieces are invited to present their selection at the performance or have someone else present the piece.
Wenesdays 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.

Advanced Songwriting Workshop (ongoing)
This discussion workshop is for graduates of prior Writeface songwriting workshops and Veterans and spouses who are already knowledgeable and comfortable with the songwriting process. Participants are encouraged to continue to write creatively. It is an ongoing workshop and has no end date. It is currently an in person endeavor but can be done virtually hybrid as participation grows. Graduates of past Music for Every Vet and Write Rhythms for Recovery programs are encouraged to attend the Advance Songwriting Workshop.
Wednesday evenings from 7PM EST to 8:30 PM.

Visual Art for Veterans
This drawing workshop begins on Thursday February 15th at 1PM and will run through April 16th 2024. Graphic artists Robert Wagner and Scott Hower will co-facilitate the workshops. The focus will be on the use of high quality Prismacolor colored pencils (these are not pencils that one would buy for children) on artist drawing papers. Pencils and paper will be provided by Writeface. Creative writing will also be explored. Workshops will be conducted in-person only at Wayside Presbyterian Church 600 Stony Battery Rd, Landisville, PA 17538. Enrollment is open to veterans, family members and caregivers by emailing writefacescott@gmail.com.

Communication Skills
This course consists of three two-hours sessions and begins with an an overview to the importance of storytelling in our culture and as a way to connect with others. Attendees are given the tools needed to find, develop, and deliver values-based stories based on their individual experience. Pop Art as a Personal Expression
This two-hour workshop includes an introduction to Pop Art, a discussion of pop art design elements and use of color. Each attendee is creates an Op Art Piece that is relevant to his or her life experience. After the workshop, that artwork is transferred to a Tote Bag and enlarged into a 16”x20“ piece and returned to the artist. There may be opportunities to have the artwork displayed at the Lebanon VA Medical Center and/or at the Ware Center, Lancaster, PA, in conjunction with the Annual Veterans Day program produced there by WriteFace and Music for Everyone.
